Bourbonade

BourbonadeI’ve recently started to develop a fondness for gin cocktails during the hotter summer months.  But, as we wind down summer and move into football season, I want to partake in my ol’ faithful, bourbon.  Several weekends back, my friend Elizabeth asked if I could make a cocktail for her birthday party, indicating that she would like it to be bourbon based.  Now I can make a classic Old Fashioned or a simple Bourbon ‘n Coke, but I wanted to push myself into creating something entirely new and refreshing.  Now I ask you, what’s more refreshing in the summer than an ice cold lemonade?  Perhaps an ice cold lemonade mixed with bourbon!?  Hence, the Bourbonade was born.  You’re welcome. 🙂
