There are lists upon lists upon lists out there of the best burgers in the nation.  But take a quick look at the most credible ones, and you’ll notice a name that continually pops up.  Holeman & Finch is known for it’s burger time (literally, for years there was a specific time you could eat a burger).  But the burgers are just what gets people into the doors, the award-winning cocktails and small bites are what keeps hungry foodies happy while they wait for the main attraction.

Holeman & Finch has an incredibly extensive and varied bar.  Indeed, it takes up about half of the restaurant’s real estate.  Whether you’re in the mood for a beer, a classic old fashioned, or a fancy French 75, this bar can accommodate any request.  On my last trip a couple of weekends ago, I tried their Pimm’s Cup out of curiosity.  It was delightful and fresh (I may be tempted to try my own version).  H&F’s bar has won awards for their house cocktails and inventive bartenders.  If you like sitting at the bar, you may even be able to sweet talk them into creating you something special based on what you like and what you’re in the mood for.

  The Freshest Burger of Your Life

I realize it’s a bit of a weird descriptor to call a burger fresh.  But trust me, it’s fitting.  Perhaps it’s because everything on the plate is made local and in-house.  They bun, the pickle, the condiments all are made on sight (there are even other restaurants around town that will use H&F breads on their menus).  The beef is local and perfectly portioned.  I personally love the layer of grilled onions between the two patties.  And what’s a burger without amazing fries?  H&F actually does double fry theirs so you get beautiful, golden, crisp french fries to dip into the house-made ketchup.
