King + Duke

King + Duke AtlantaIf there’s one name to know in the Atlanta restaurant world it’s Ford Fry.  Everything Mr. Fry touches is gold, and King + Duke is definitely no exception.  King + Duke is centered around a massive open hearth and plays with classic literature in it’s food and decor (it’s named after two characters from Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn).  The ambience is trendy but also classic.  The food is masculine but beautiful in it’s presentation.  King + Duke is a foodie’s dream but still perfect for a food novice.  In short, it’s perfect.

Kiss Print Signature Just a Touch Too Much King + Duke Altanta Popovers Cocktails Prologue: Popovers + Cocktails

The literary theme is at it’s most evident with the cocktail menu, presented in a hardback cover for The Old Man and the Sea.  Each cocktail comes with a quote from the novel it was named for and they all go perfectly with the warmed popovers.  This drink menu is unapologetically southern and creatively different from it’s other contemporaries.
