For my 30th Birthday party I had decided I wanted to go the cupcake route instead of a traditional birthday cake.  But I wanted cupcakes that had a fun element deserving of my 30th birthday.  I made this recipe for a Christmas party a couple of years ago and knew it would perfect for this party as well.  Champagne, glitter, buttercream!  Delicious.  Now the buttercream frosting is a bit runny, so pretty piping isn’t really a possibility.  I like to sprinkle gold and silver sanding sugar on top to make up for the look of the icing and because birthday sparkles are acceptable in any form.
