Apple-Cinnamon Chips

Cinnamon Apple ChipsI got the inspiration for this dish from a photo I saw on Williams-Sonoma’s Instagram. The chips just looked so delicious and simple.  But what I quickly found out when I went to make my own chips, was this was actually a tricky recipe the first few times you try it.  My first attempt was to bake the chips for 1 hour (most recipes called for 2!) and the chips were burned beyond recognition.  On my second attempt I sliced the apples a bit thicker and baked them for 45 minutes.  Unfortunately, the thicker the chip the less likely they are to ever really crisp up and make an actual chip.  But they say that the third time’s a charm, and indeed it was!  These chips are even better than I could have imagined.  Plus, the best part, each chip is only 7 calories!  Bet you can’t eat just one.  ;-)  With all of the holiday snacking lately, this is a welcomed change.
