I am pre-programmed to love all things pineapple, given my Charleston roots (as you can see here and here). Pineapples have had a place in Southern society for hundreds of years. Often seen as the hospitality fruit, way, way back in the old days, a host or hostess would welcome guests with a pineapple in their room to signify their excitement at having visitors. Once the host or hostess was ready for those guests to return to their homes, the pineapple was discreetly removed from the home. Yep. Southerners have been passive aggressive for centuries.

So anyway, back to my pineapple fun. This combo was a classic case of going in for one thing and coming out with more than you expected. I knew going into JCrew that I must have this pineapple sweater. But one does not simply walk away from the matching pineapple earrings sitting right next to said sweater! These earrings have gotten so many compliments every time I wear them, so if nothing else, get them for the attention. 😉
